Is an extended version of Saving Private Ryan possible?

Saving Private Ryan is such a striking film, every time I watch it I wish there was more of it. Does anyone have an idea if an extended cut would be possible?

Anything's possible, but I highly doubt there will ever be an extended cut. I can't think of any part of the film that I wish was more developed.

You must be sick to want more from a movie that's already filled w/ 3+ hours of blood and gruelsome images of American soldiers getting their heads blown off by bombs and machine guns.

Well, one could point out quite rightly that the film is actually less than 3 hours in length and that a majority of its runtime is free of gruelsome [sic] images of American soldiers getting their heads blown off by bombs and machine guns or any other combat.

He may be sick or not, who knows? What does it say about you, however, that you feel compelled to come in here and respond to his rather innocuous question in such insulting terms?

Who says that there is any MORE footage to put into it?

Just get Band of brothers.

Anything's possible, but I doubt it.
If Spielberg wanted to show more, noone would have stopped him.

i just watched this last night and thought it was the perfect length. i recently discovered my computer's dts capability and it was on sale, i must say i was very impressed with the quality! although i'm sure you dts nerds already knew that

now i have the strong urge to get band of brothers.
