Quick one about the new Speed Racer DVD

For anyone that owns it (I do) did you notice that the audio on the first episode was sped up slightly? You really notice it in the theme song.

Also, for anyone that used to watch the show on TV (and I mean when it was new, circa the late 60s), wasn't it difficult to hear the words "to do" after "dangerous work" in the theme song? Even with the sound enhancement, the sound effect of the two cars bumping each other kinda drowns it out.

Lastly, have you heard any audio glitches, specifically in the second episode?

I didn't notice any audio glitch in the second ep, Rocky. When I used to watch it in NYC back in the sixties, I had problems understanding that "dangerous work" verse. I noticed on the dvd that the end title video quality seems alot fuzzier than I remember it. I'll have to take another look at it for the speeding up issue.

Speed Racer ep.3 freezing?

While we're on the topic of SPEED RACER, did anyone have problems with the disc pixelating and freezing towards the end of episode three? I returned to the store and traded it in for another. It's fine so I'm glad.

I remember it was difficult to hear "to do". I don't have the set, so I'm going on memory there.

We used to shout "TO DO!" over the cars bashing together.

Yes. We were sad.

Yep... I too had problems hearing "to do" when watching it in NYC during the late 60's as well... and the DVD is no different.

Right, that's where the cars crash so it is tough to hear "to do". I forgot it was even in there until I picked up the DVD.
