Das Boot Superbit or regular ?
I've never bought a superbit version of a film yet so dont know if its worth giving up all the extras for supposedly better picture and sound.
Is it worth it for Das Boot ? Is the DTS track a much better experience than DD ?
Thanks

Well if you understan german, go for it since the DTS track is in german only...
I was looking forward for that release, but now, I will probably just get the original release!...

The DTS track has English subs... And it's a damn_fine DTS track. Go with the Superbit, better A/V, unless you're a commentary freak... The extras - like most extras - on the regular disc are a one time view... Better A/V is always better A/V every single time. Rent the other version if you have to listen to the commentary and watch the extras. There's been a few threads on the A/V comparison of these discs in the review forum if you wanna run a search... Including Savant's review, which I don't completely agree with.
edit - Forgot to ask... What kind of gear do you use? Obviously, your gear will also help determine your needs here... Although, a great DTS track is always a great DTS track, regardless of your display device.

Das Boot is one of the few movies where I don't mind subtitles.
German as a language is understandable which words they are emphasizing and where they are putting emotions.
They hardly say anything during action scenes (because they are too busy doing stuff) so not much to distract you from just watching.
Hearing them speak German gives more depth to the movie (no pun intended) since the characters are German.
The German DTS track on the superbit sounds fantastic.

Looks like i'll get the superbit version. im about to buy a DTS AV Receiver so guess i should start stocking up on DTS compatible movies.
I always watch the original language as I dont like dubbed movies (the lack of lip sync really annoys me).

Thanks Guys
