a line of dvd released by Columbia/Tristar with better picture / better sound than their counter parts such as Legends of the Falls, Bad Boys, Dracula, etc., etc.
However Panic Room have no other release yet but a SE is in the making.

Not threadcrapping here, but can anyone tell a difference btw a superbit release video transfer and a New Line platinum series video transfer? In other words, does anyone here feel that the transfer is actually THAT MUCH BETTER, or is it just a CTS ploy to push discs out of the store?

There is much debating about if superbit is actually better. I believe that if less compression is used then less compression artifacts will show, but that's about the only legitimate benefit as I see it. There are non-superbit titles that have no quality problems caused by compression used so I personally consider superbit to be more or less a guarantee of a better than the average transfer, but not automatically the best of the best.
