What Criterion Documentaries are there?

I own For all Mankind, and I was wondering what other documentaries are available on dvd from Criterion? Thanks for any input.

Too bad they didnt do Bowling for Columbine or Roger and Me. That would have been great.

General Idi Amin, I think. And how about Tokyo Olympiad?

Here's a link from Criterion's website supposedly listing their documentaries, but Tokyo Olympiad is missing... so others may be missing from this list, too.

..."Man Bites Dog" a documentary...?... naahh...!...

..."Fishing With John" is, or could be called, a documentary however - and it's great fun, too...!...

MAN BITES DOG and I AM CURIOUS are not documentaries.

SALESMAN, GREY GARDENS, MONTERY POP, GIMME SHELTER, HEARTS AND MINDS and IDI AMIN DADA are though. I'm sure there are a few others, but that Criterion link isn't loading for me at the moment.

Sartana is right. I think the only one he left off had already been mention...Tokyo Olympiad plus For All Mankind mentioned by the thread poster.

Criterion has documentaries, musical documentaries (where a real musical event was filmed), and one mokumentary (where documentaries are lampooned). Don't forget though that most of Criterion's dvds have one or two documentaries as special features though.

The documentaries are:

Salesman
Grey Gardens
Nanook of the North
For All Mankind
Hearts and Minds
Idi Amin
Tokyo Olympiad
Night and Fog

Musical Documentaries:

Monterey Pop Festival
Gimmie Shelter

Mockumentaries:

Fishing With John

My favorites:
Gimme Shelter
Grey Gardens
The Complete Monterey Pop

Also, dunno whether this really counts, but the disc two feature-length documentary "A Proposito de Bunuel" on the "Discreet Charm" DVD is excellent.

As already mentioned "Gimme Shelter" excellent. If you're a rock fan, it's a great buy. If you're a Stones fan, it's a must.

I'd say it's practically a must if you're a rock fan as well. Possibly the best rock documentary ever made...plus, the picture, the sound and the extras are amazing. A great piece of rock history.

Salesman is another Criterion documentary which I've read was research material for Glengarry Glen Ross, a movie I adore.
