There is some info about this somewhere on this site......somewhere. Not sure if you can find the relevant threads via search or not.....

....but apparently, Anchor Bay decided NOT to re-release the 2nd disc from the LE separately this year as they had originally announced.

So if you want the longer cut, you'll have to find the box.

My local BestBuy still has the 2 disc wooden box for $19.99 which I'll probably wind up picking up. (Obviously this is not a hot seller).

But some posts mentioned the R2 UK has a directors commentary track.
Has anyone heard it? or have a link to more info on whether it's worth tracking down for that?

The commentary is not only from the director, but also Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee. I think it's fantastic -- and most of the reviews agree.

There's a bunch of R2 reviews here:

In my opinion, yes, it is worth tracking down the R2 version for the commentary. R2 seems to be getting quite a few cool genre commentaries that are MIA in R1 (Starman, Wicker Man, They Live, The Changeling, etc.)

Thanks, bboisvert, for the info. I read all the reviews on the link you had and they all give very high praise indeed for that R2-exclusive commentary track. Really too bad this is missing from R1 release.
So now it looks like I'll have to get the R2 discs instead of the R1 wood box!

I think I'll have to wait for the Boomstick edition of this one.
