I did not know that.

I think the argument is that since I paid less than $10 for it I shouldn't expect much from this release. I did not price the disc, I only know what I would like on it.
Most DVDs have inserts - it's only the odd disc that doesn't - so why not include one? It wouldn't cost much more to produce one, and they could easily have charged a $19.99 MSRP instead of the $14.99.
but you can either stop buying their DVDs (and Lions Gate because they don't do inserts either) or get over it, or maybe even both.
I canceled my orders for "Far From Heaven" and "Secretary" because I read on here that they contained no inserts.
As far as "getting over it" - I'm not going to change what I like.
Why don't other people "get over" movies only being released in full frame, or "get over" non-anamorphic enhancement on a number of titles? It's because they have a preference for those things.
Saying "get over it" is a lazy, idiotic solution to a problem. If you don't have a problem with not receiving an insert with your DVDs, that's fine. Good for you. But to suggest someone "get over it" isn't very helpful.
And I assume you were just posting to try and be helpful and not be a jerk, right?

And while you're writing all those letters, the rest of us will spend our time watching the movies we enjoy, since, for most of us, it's about the movie, not a piece of paper with a chapter list.
(I sure hope I never get this obsessive, but if I do, I hope it's about something more meaningful than a generally non-meaningful piece of paper.)

You would pay an extra $5-$10 for a piece of paper you only read once.
I'm just happy obscure titles like UHF are being released at all. The $10 price point helps lesser known movies sell better and its a great strategy by MGM.

Look, Warner Bros. has their own crap packaging AND they charge more than MGM. My main point is: why doesn't UHF, or other MGM "Catalog" releases, have either booklets or at least inserts with chapter cards?
The cost is negligible, they're already charging quite a bit less than average for discs (bravo to them for that), and it would make the release better.
Anyone who would rather NOT have an insert/booklet than have one, e-mail me and I'll give you an address to send all of your unwanted booklets and inserts. I'll find them a good home.
Cheers,

Not to defend Jough's OCD too much....but I like inserts too.
But my reason is because I put all my DVDs in binders, not having the shelf space for 1000 DVDs. It's a lot easier to find the movie you want when flipping thru the binders if they have a nice insert.
