On disc 3, the Episode called "A Picture's Worth a Thousand Bucks", at 15:53 the picture goes to black, then comes back a second or two later.

Is that normal, or a glitch with the disc?

It's just another commercial break. It is abrupt but thats kind of the joke...hes still singing the same note 3 minutes later.

Doesn't the lack of a commercial there ruin the joke though? Should I pause the DVD for 3 minutes instead?

Well that's the same deal as **i forget what episode now** where peter or lois are like "If only we had a couple of minutes to come up with an idea!" or something to that extent. And then it goes black for a second, and when it comes back on they have their plan made up. It isn't exactly the same effect as watching it on TV but its still humerous for those who can catch the joke

I actually program my player to pause for 3 minutes at these spots, so I get that real commercial break feeling. This allows me to go upstairs to pee, check my emails, get sucked into surfing a bit, run down and grab a soda, and then make it back just in time to miss the joke... just like in real life!
