Roger Ebert doing commentary for Criterion's Floating Weeds!!!!
Just found this out right now on Criterion's website. Here is the exact paragraph:
AWESOME!!!! When is the New York Film Festival?
Esteemed film critic Roger Ebert will contribute audio commentary to Criterion's upcoming DVD release of Yasujiro Ozu's classic Floating Weeds (Ukigusa, 1959). Also included in this release will be Ozu's original, silent The Story of Floating Weeds (Ukigusa monogatari, 1934). The release of Criterion's Floating Weeds will follow the the celebration of Ozu's centennial at this year's New York Film Festival.

While he does provide a lot of insight he tends to talk really fast and repeat things way too often.
i.e. In his commentary for Cit. Kane he constantly repeated, "notice the witness in the right hand corner." "See how low the ceilings are." "Background fades out, foreground fades in, background fades in, foreground fades out."

The 41st New York Film Festival will be held October 3 - 19, 2003.
Amazing what 10 seconds with Google can do.

Good news. Worthy of four exclamation points? Probably not.

this is Ebert's 3rd commentary right? I own Citizen Kane & Dark City for Ebert's commentary alone, the movies weren't that great to me, but I am a huge Ebert mark.

I'll have to save up then. I haven't listened to Ebert's commentary in Dark City (which is a shame for me), but his commentary in Citizen Kane is simply awesome.
