danol,
Darby O'Gill is, indeed, memorable because it's a first glimpse of the future James Bond, as you mention.
But what makes it memorable, and a must buy, to me is the recollection of seeing that movie as a little kid, in what seemed to be a "big" theater (I probably got in for a 25 cent childrens ticket while my mom had to pay the $1 adult price), and getting the bejeebers scared out of me during a scene by the well. I was so scared, in fact, that I had to escape to the lobby until that scene was over. And that image of me, peeking through the theater door to see if it was "safe" to go back to my seat is as strong in my mind now as it was when it actually happened.
Sorry for subjecting all of you to my little flashback moment. But it's something I've remembered and treasured for over 40 years, and would like to experience again, if that is ever possible, now that I'm a grown-up, adult kinda person.

No problem with me I still have the Vhs version of Darby, but haven't seen it for awhile for all the titles I have. Refreshing to hear another when a boy besides me going into see a film he saw as a child, me it was 20,000 Leagues and seeing the monster, only later did we find out it was a sub.

These threads always seem like a contest to name the most obscure films one can think of. Whatever. Here's my list
The Naked Prey, does no one love this movie?
Dial "M" for Murder
Lifeboat
Kagemusha
Pink Floyd - P-U-L-S-E
HBO's Autopsy series, not a film, I know, I still want it
The West Wing season box sets
Chicago: City of the Century, PBS doc.
Can't think of anything else, there are a few movies I'd love to have redone on dvd, but that's another thread.
