how to get replacement for defective dvd?
I have a defective disc 1 of the widescreen version of lord of the rings, which I bought back in August. Is there any way I can send it in for a replacement? Who do I contact? New Line Home Entertainment? Or am I stuck?

plus I no longer have the store receipt. That's why I was hoping I could contact New Line or whoever is in charge of the dvd distribution and ask for a replacement. But there is no contact info on the New Line website.

Ah but do you have The Blair Witch 2?
Remove cover art and get the same lady that was in :The Jackal" to place the This DVD may not play on all DVD players and have insert it somewhere then take back to the store and say it says so right on the box.
It's the truth the cover art case has those words printed on it, and one of my changers will not play it the other will, I have 4 online so I would have tried the other 2 if the CX-860 wouldn't have played it. I first put it in the Sony CX-875 P.S. changer which would not play it.
Lots of Luck, the flea market season is coming up maybe you could sell it cheap. Not too many vendors have eletricity to try it out on. Which is also why you should not buy any discs at flea markets.
I was a vendor I sold U. S. Coins back in 1976 when our flea market/movie drive in started up their first season.

Here's the main number to New Line Cinema: (310) 854-5811
Maybe they might have the number to their Home Entertainment division. You never know where you'll wind up. Just think of it as a phone adventure

From: 30-minute drive from Tampa HR....
And let us know how your adventure goes!
(I for one have been concerned about this happening to my disks in the future and would like to know how the studios handle it.)

Hey guys I just came back from walmart where I was allowed to exchange my defective copy with a new one, even though I didn't have a receipt (and didn't even buy it there). They do ask for your driver's license though, so be careful and don't abuse this 'privelidge.' I didn't call up New line to ask them and see how they would handle the situation.
