How to clean DVDs and LCDs.
Can anyone recommend where to buy cleaning solution and wipes to clean DVDs and LCDs? Can I do both with one or do they need different cleaning supplies? I have this big thumbprint on my portable DVD player and the Glengarry Glen Ross has a bunch of thumbprints
(along with so many other DVDs).

For fingerprints and smudges, I've used rubbing alcohol pads (lightly) drawn from the center of the disc to the outer edge in straight lines, then a lint-free cloth. same thing. So far, it's worked every time. I imagine water would work instead of alcohol, but because there's less alcohol (and it evaporates quickly) I've always used that, when available.

cleaning with a dry cloth has always left ugly little marks on my discs, so i've started dampening the cloth with a little water first, seems to do the trick just fine. in my experience, rubbing your discs with ANYTHING is bound to leave cosmetic inperfections, but it doesn't affect playback.

PerfectClean ultraMICROfiber science.
It's good enough to be used on photographic lenses (review). Here is what the Fellowes has to say.
So, I guess it is good enough for LCDs
