The movie is a work of genius by Hal Ashby - Last Detail, Shampoo and Harold & Maude. Some of the best movies of the 70s; Some of the best movies, period.

I haven't ever seen it but I have it preordered and am excited. I think Ebert chose this as one of his "Great Movies" distinctions.

I was thinking about getting it, but saw it's full-screen only. My 65" HDTV says "no thank you". I love Peter Sellers though.

Oh my God

You're right, it's fullscreen!

And in case anyone's wondering, the origianl was 1.85:1. At least, according to the Internet Movie Database:

Amazon says it's full screen:

Buy.com says widescreen:

amazon still lists 6th day as a special edition. i've been hearing all along that this is widescreen and most sites still have it listed widescreen. i am betting on widescreen, and for those of you who want to be stubborn, good luck not owning it

I don't think they're going to sell out if we wait to see if it's anamorphic widescreen or not. Hasn't anyone gotten it yet, or seen a review?

I haven't "watched" it, but I did toss it in my player to check it out, and it IS 1.85 anamorphic widescreen.
