It comes out Tuesday...
|
GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM SERIOUS
|
The movie is a work of genius by Hal Ashby - Last Detail, Shampoo and Harold & Maude. Some of the best movies of the 70s; Some of the best movies, period.
|
I haven't ever seen it but I have it preordered and am excited. I think Ebert chose this as one of his "Great Movies" distinctions.
|
yep, he did. here's his review in case anyone else is interested:

I know
It's one of my favorite movies.
I was looking for a review of the disc. Video/audio quality, etc. |
I was thinking about getting it, but saw it's full-screen only. My 65" HDTV says "no thank you". I love Peter Sellers though.
|
Oh my God
You're right, it's fullscreen!
And in case anyone's wondering, the origianl was 1.85:1. At least, according to the Internet Movie Database: http://us.imdb.com/Technical?Being+There+(1979) |
1.85 anamorphic widescreed according to the big picture!!!!

i am damn near sure this puppy's widescreen
|
Amazon says it's full screen:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...-info/dvdtalk/ Buy.com says widescreen: http://www.us.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=40149307 Hmmmm... |
amazon still lists 6th day as a special edition. i've been hearing all along that this is widescreen and most sites still have it listed widescreen. i am betting on widescreen, and for those of you who want to be stubborn, good luck not owning it
|
I don't think they're going to sell out if we wait to see if it's anamorphic widescreen or not. Hasn't anyone gotten it yet, or seen a review?
|
Just got my copy. I haven't watched it yet, but the cover says Widescreen Version Enhanced for 16x9 TV's.
