I've seen the movie already but, is the DVD worth getting?

If you like the movie then by all means get the DVD. The anamorphic video is quite good and the new 5.1 soundtrack packs a wallop. The commentary track is pretty dull and the alternate FX shots are pretty weak as well but at least they're there for those who are into extras. In my case I found the film didn't live up to how I remembered it and I promptly sold the disc.

I enjoyed the DVD as much as when I saw it theatrically way back when. Moreover, i thought the commentary was pretty good, so if you like this movie, i recommend you buy it.

Put me in mugwump's camp. The movie just didn't play like I remembered it. With that said, if you do still enjoy the film, the picture and sound are just fine (by no means reference material, of course).

I also sold the disc soon after watching it.

Interesting...make me the third person to say I didn't like this movie as much as I remembered it. The DVD is fine, and if you've never seen this movie, you should definitely buy/rent it.

Buy I wonder why our recent viewings don't stand up to our fond memories?? Is it because we've become jaded due to other sci-fi flicks that have come out in the meantime, or some hidden alien manipulation perhaps???
