I just watched this DVD and the DTS sound is better then the old DD counterpart (more active LFE, and surrounds). The video overall is pretty good (not great) but there are a few scenes where it looks VERY GRAINY (mostly shots with the sky involved or very dark scenes). I haven't compared the video to the non-anamorphic older DVD yet but I will in the next couple of days. I also need to compare the old & new DVD because it seems to me that these are not the exact same cuts of the film. I know for sure they cut short the scene (on the new DVD) of when the Alien is attending to his wounds and he lets out a loud scream. I believe they added some extra scenes where the Alien is shooting up into the trees at Arnold's character. Like I said I intend to do a comparison and see if there are truely differences.

So... What did you come up with?

Anyone else have this title?

yes.....

Please give us the skinny.....I have been putting off buying PREDATOR for a long time since it is still up in the $27 range & now with the new version I was waiting for that one.

Let us know the differences if you can , it would be much appreciated.

I also was not overly impressed with the transfer....pretty grainy at times although not a complete disaster.

The DTS soundtrack was cool indeed. When I watched this title I wasn't sure if I was going to keep the DVD or not....I didn't have the fondest memories of this movie when I saw it years ago. The film holds up pretty well though and the DTS soundtrack really adds to the excitement. Much better than I expected.
