I know you're new here, but I'm guessing he has already made a decision. If he has waited seven weeks to decide what to pick, well then he's a thinker allright...

True. Never the less there is no reason why he should not give his opinion even though it might be a few weeks late.

'Three Kings' is clearly the best of the three. 'Contact' is stupid, new-agey, poorly directed, overblown psuedo-science fiction whose best moments are the first 2 frickin' minutes. 'The Green Mile' is sappy, overlong, pretentious, cliched, hand-me-the-barf-bag dreck which proves that a book adaptation can still suck even when it stays true to the source material. Go with 'Three Kings.'

I have watched all three and Three Kings would easily be my choice. But The Green Mile was a great book and you can pick that up for like 3 bucks! I don't think contact has much "re-watchable" potential though. That would be my last choice.

To each their own, I've watched Contact 10+ times and watched parts of it (opening sequence and worm hole parts) countless more. The disc has Amazing extras. I saw 3 Kings on a plane and once on DVD and don't feel the need to watch it ever again. I own the green mile and probably won't watch it again until I'm home sick as its so freakin long. For my money Contact was the best of the bunch and I bought it befoer I knew of this site and paid retail (19.99) a year ago.

It's really hard to ask questions like "What should I get, Gladiator or X-Men?" Or this question. All 5 movies in question are all worth owning. You can't compare apples to oranges. Some people prefer apples a little more than oranges. Luckily, I've been fortunate to own most of these (except green mile), or at least have them on order.
Since you are getting them for free, I'd choose whatever kind of movies you like. Green Mile deal a little bith with fantasy, which I'm not into. Contact deals with a bit of creativity of one's believable explanation of how the universe works. Three kings deals with political barriers from a real world perspective.
Contact. If you like ID4, Men in Black, Star Trek, Sphere, Mission to Mars
Green Mile. If you like Steven King books, What Dreams May Come
Three Kings. If you like Crimson Tide, Hunt for Red October

Not to be picky but Three Kings is the exact opposite of these flag-wavers in theme.
