I have seen these on TV and was just wondering what the picture and sound were like on DVD?

Haven't seen them myself but a review I read (can't remember where) said that the video is sub-VHS and the sound isn't much better. Too bad.

The video is poor, the fourth is a little better than the others. The sound is nothing special, but not as bad as the video. Of course, the material is great fun. It's a shame that great material like this was not treated better. I have other BFS releases, while the video on the other releases has not been great they have been much better than the Sharpe's so far. let's hope that the future releases are better.

Bummer! I was hoping the Video would be the same quality as the Horatio Hornblower DVDs.... Well I may still pick-up at least one and see if its worth getting the rest.
