I don't have the Criterion of Carnival of Souls yet, but I saw the shorter version a while ago at a friend's house and was quite impressed by it. I also enjoyed 'The Sixth Sense', but agree it was way overrated. I can think of no less than five films which should've taken it's oscar nod - Three Kings, Boys Don't Cry, Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, and The Iron Giant.

Just a quick follow-up to my earlier review.
I FINALLY got through watching ALL of the Carnival of Souls Criterion 2 disc set. If you are even somewhat interested in Horror/Cult movies BUY IT! There are Enormous amounts of information on it, most of it extremely fun, The film looks absolutely stunning on DVD! I have seen alot of Criterion Discs, and I would rate this in the Top 5 they went all out on this title.
I can't imagine anything else I would even want to know about this film!
