DVD Talk Legend
I just got this recently as a Christmas present and was checking it out last night. I thought the video was very well done. Did anyone else have a problem with the audio? I have a little trouble hearing so I sometimes don't know if it's me or the disc, but the audio didn't seem real clear. Very little use of the surrounds and the bass not very deep. I know this is a 60 year old sound track but I actually liked the original mono to the 5.1 track.

Jim, I think you answered your own question. There's not much you can do with a 60 year old movie to pump up the audio. The surrounds, as far as I can tell, are used very sparingly. Maybe only prominent during the fire scenes and the scene when Christina Applegate, er I mean Scarlet walks by those piles of wounded people.
