From the solicitation that Disney sent to retailers:
"A 2-disc special edition! Disc One contains the film in both anamorphic widescreen and full frame; Disc Two contains the supplemental materials. (Note: The Full Frame version is not a Pan & Scan transfer, but is actually a new version of the film specially re-composed for the 1.33:1 TV aspect ratio.) This DVD was transferred directly from the original digital source for the clearest picture ever seen on DVD. LBX 2.35:1/ English:5.1 Surround.
- The LBX version features an audio commentary by co-directors John Lasseter & Andrew Stanton and editor Lee Unkrich
- The LBX version also features a stereo music-only track
- The Full Frame version features a 5.1-Surround sound-effects-only track
- Pixar's Academy Award-winning animated short "Geri's Game"
- "Fleabie" early presentation reel
- Original treatment with concept art
- Storyboard pitch
- Storyboard-to-film comparison
- Early unused story reels: P.T.'s Office, Museum Trip, Flick and Grub Open, Queen Over the Waterfall
- "Bug Cam" footage and bug research
- Character designs from early sketches to final models
- Location designs: Ant Island, City, Circus Tent and Wagon, Grasshopper's Lair
- Concept art and color scripts"
If that stuff sounds cool to you, I would definitely wait. $50 may sound expensive (hell, it *is* expensive), but the non-SE version is also rather pricey at $35. I think the extras are worth the additional $15, if you're into that kind of thing. If you're just buying this for the kiddies, the regular should be fine...
