Imax Alaska where's the Base???

I recently recieved Imax Alaska. The visuals and sound are spectacular with one glaring flaw. The Dolby Digital soundtrack sounds great except it is missing the Subwoofer channel entirely. I don't know if I have a defective disc or if this is normal???????

There might not be a need for the subwoofer. I have a Sony reciever and if a disc is 5.1, it shows it on the LED screen. If it is not it also shows this. When I was watching Clerks, it showed up as Dolby Digital 2/0, and there was no sub presence in the disc.
