All-Time Horror Films...YOU name them

So I'm trying to upgrade my horror movie collection with my tax refund (what better way to waste money, right? lol) and I would love to know what movies I MUST buy and have in my collection. Could be classics and could be new indy films that came out the past 5 years. Looking for everything and anything. I will say that I am NOT looking for disgusting horror, like what was seen in ABC's of Death. I want horror, something that will scare me or freak me out, not leave me disgusted disturbed.

Yes King Kong (original) was along the lines of a Horror film. It was quite terrifying for some people.

And YES, the original 'Straw Dogs' by Sam Peckinpah

I re-watched some greats during last year's October Horror Challenge (click on the link below), including: ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (1933), DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE (1932) and THE INVISIBLE MAN (1933).

while yes, when I saw King Kong as a kid it was pretty terrifying, but as a teenager it came across as more of an action/adventure/fantasy movie.

You have some great movies on your list, but that Renny Harlin entry really stands out.

It's easily the worst in the series. Beautifully shot by Storaro, but Dominion, Legion and even Boorman's incredibly flawed, yet woefully underrated Exorcist II:The Heretic blows The Beginning out of the water.

Yeah okay, admittedly I'm an Exorcist geek.
