DVD Talk review of 'The Inspector General: Collector's Edition'
I read Jamie S. Rich's DVD review of The Inspector General: Collector's Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=50403 and...
Is there a better vehicle to get to know Danny Kaye? Of course, there is. THE COURT JESTER, while it may still fall into the "white bread family comedy" category, is an inspired swashbuckler spoof, down to having Basil Rathbone playing a Sir Guy baddie to Kaye's alternately confused and terrified version of Robin Hood. Good songs and great verbal and physical comedy. This is the Kaye film everyone should know. As far as I know the DVD is still in print - and I will be one of the first in line to buy a Blu-ray whenever Paramount remembers there were movies before the year 2000.
