I have copies of Europa, Kwaidan, The Night Porter, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Salo, and Vampyr from other regions, and am waiting for the re-releases of The Seventh Seal, Walkabout, and Andrei Rublev. Was considering maybe the Rohmer set but have my eye on quite a few different titles, and was hoping for some brainstorming for what should be the special 100th. (I know, I'm juvenile.)

Dazed And Confused! I never get tired of watching this, a true comedy classic. And the packaging is awesome.

Wow! My top three recommendations (Cassavetes, Passion of Joan, and Solaris) and my two least favorites (Armageddon and The Rock) have all already been mentioned.

I'd like to recommend The Complete Mr. Arkadin and
Paul Robeson: Portraits of the Artist for their lavish and comprehensive presentations.

Re: What should be my 100th Criterion?

I was obviously joking about Armageddon, but seriously, it doesn't matter which is your 100th or which is your 101st. Just get what you like.

Re: What should be my 100th Criterion?

Thank you for all your suggestions. As to the comment that it doesn't matter what my 100th is, it doesn't, but I am silly and like an excuse to celebrate.

Anyway, I actually ended up selling my Kurosawa box set since I have the special editions of three of the films (Sanjuro, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo - and Hidden Fortress is coming out soon at $20 MSRP as part of Art House Essentials), bringing me down to 98.

So to reach 100, I bought:
99 - Dazed and Confused
100 - John Cassavetes: Five Films

All of your suggestions were appreciated and merited, and I am sure I will be getting Nights of Cabiria, Le Samourai, and The Passion of Joan of Arc shortly, to name a few.

Thanks again!
