This movie is very violent. If you are looking to buy it because you think it will have some steamy scenes because he is John Holmes you will be dissapointed. Movies was not bad. Bonus disc is biography of John Holmes.

The documentary it came with about John Holmes was worth the price alone I'd say ..interesting stuff. I watched the doc first then the movie and it gave me more insight into the movie. The movie itself is not about the porn side of his career its about the murders he was involved in. The acting in the movie is pretty solid from the entire cast. The characters are all scum bags for the most part and the movie is pretty sad. If you do buy it, make sure you get one with the sticker on the front that mentions the limited edition "Wadd" bonus disc. I bought it blind, which I rarely ever do and I wasn't dissapointed with it all ..so it gets my reccomendation I guess.

i rented this going on very little and thought it was a great surprise. it was only the one disc, but the movie and what extras there were there caused me to be so intrigued i just bought it today, the 2-disc and looking forward to watching the 'Wadd" doc.

A blind buy for me, and worth it for the Holmes documentary. The film itself was good -- well acted, as others note -- if not great (I watched the Wadd doc first, which lead me to believe the feature itself could have been much better). Worthwhile, and not as violent as you've heard.

I thought the movie was really entertaining, but I always find Kilmer to bring something special to movies. However I found the documentary to be the most mundane, drawn out, horribly shot docu I've seen in years. There was no point to filming this, a 10 page booklet could have been included with the movie and have been more informative and more entertaining.

I got this during last week's Best Buy 2 for $15 sale and was pretty stunned by it. The movie itself is pretty good but the extras were shocking. They include the actual video footage recorded by the police officers investigating the crime scene. The video records the crime scene and actually shows the real murdered victims as they lay, bashed heads and all. It is about 30 minutes of footage that sickened and fascinated me at the same time.
I liked the Wadd documentary more than the movie. It was an unexpected extra since it isn't listed on the back of the DVD case.

It's been about a year since I rented this and I wasn't a big fan of the film. I too thought the documentary was more interesting. I must say that Val Kilmer and Lisa Kudrow give an awesome performance.
