Laugh Track Presents: Psychomania
You probably have never heard of Psychomania and you also probably haven't heard of Laugh Track movies so your first question is probably "what the hell are you talking about"?
Psychomania is about a motorcycle gang that haunts the roadways of the U.K. after they make a deal with the devil and becom the living dead. So far you have a movie that isn't that bad until the Laugh Track crew gets hold of it.
Laugh Track turns the movie into a story about a white rapper that makes his posse listen to his latest album turning them into tasteless zombies.
But how does Laugh Track do that?
Straight from the DVD case: "Join in on the joke as we take a classic flick and give it our patented "Old Skool made Cool" parody process creating a "Throwback Laugh Attack"! If you knew "wassup" with Tiger Lily; If you like "Kung Pow" with your chicken; then you'll die with laughter as you go into Psychomania!"
If first impressions toward a movie came when you first looked at the case it came in, then this is where I first wanted to kill myself. Not only are there rappers on the front, but on the back you have a picture of three rappers riding horses. Ahh, but this is where the stupidity just begins.
Comparing themselves to creating something similar to Tiger Lily or Kung Pow is just plain wrong.
The difference between Laugh Track and those are as follows:
1. Laugh Track is far less funny than the other two. In fact,
"funny" should never be in the same sentence with Laugh
Track.
2. The other movies felt the need to try and get the dubbed
voices similar to when people were talking in the movie. In
Laugh Track, you have people talking when nobody is
talking in the movie, you even have one voice talking when
dialog is being exchanged between multiple people in the
movie. In the final step to show that Laugh Track has no
clue what they are doing, you hear voices when people
in the movie aren't even talking at all. I guess Laugh Track
thought thought that those were the rules to follow and
not the rules to break. Tiger Lily and Kung Pow made the
effort to get it right.
3. Laugh Track added a rap soundtrack. This means that
every sound that comes out of your speaker while the
movie is playing will make you want to kill yourself. The
other two movies were an attempt to get people to watch,
not to jab chopsticks into their ears.
There are special features on the disk but I would call them neither special nor features. These include the movie being in widescreen, 2 trailers, menus (ow, menus on a DVD. That's special), the "awesome spectacular Laugh Track" (or as I say, "Crap Track"), and the "Old Skool Version (or the one I call, "the good version").
Also featured is a behind the Scenes which serve no other purpose than to enrage the viewer with how stupid these people are (one of them reminded me of the guy that smoked crack in Bum Fights), and to also give any hitmen (and hitwomen), targets should they decide to kill some stupid people for the sake of humanity.
I don't recommend this at all, not even if you are a fan of bad movies. There are bad movies that are amusing at how stupid they are and then there are train wrecks for movies. This is not only a train wreck, but both trains were filled with crap that upon collision, exploded and proceeded to cover everything within a 5 mile radius with crap.
