The Mad Monster (1942) ~ Review / Warning
I recently purchased this odd "Z" movie staring George Zucco and Glenn Strange from Amazon. The movie is a curiosity and if you like 40's "Z" horror it's nice to have in your collection.
The main problem is that both copies I received froze at 8:32 into the movie
You can't even fast-forward past the glitch
In order to watch the rest of the movie you must skip to the next chapter and rewind to just after the glitch.
Another problem is the quality
I've seen versions on television that make this disc look like it was used as a coaster for a year before you put it in the DVD player.
I want to be clear about the edition, which concerns my review, since there are two. This is the more expensive Ventura Distribution version for $13.46 and not the cheaper Gotham Distribution edition for $7.98.........Go figure
Anyway.........I hope I've saved someone a bit of annoyance in returning a disc or two before realizing there's a manufacturing problem besides the poor video quality.
