How is this movie? Is it a rental or a purchase?

I'd also like to know on this one. I've avoided everything at the movie theater except for absolute must-sees because of the prices.
$8+$8+babysitter=Buy the dvd and stay home

Its a good action film. Worth the $16 for me. Go to apple's site and download the trailer if you think it interests you then pick it up.

I loved it. Point Break with imports. I think Best Buy has it for 17.99 not a bad deal.

Put your brain in the frig, strap on a beer helmet, set phasers on stun, turn volume to max+10 and go.

Well, for me being somewhat of a riceboy, I loved the movie. Also, there are a lot of famous import models that do non-speaking cameos in the movie (famous for import models...however, if you're not into the import car scene, you won't know who the hell they are).

It's a fun movie with good action sequences. I really like Vin Diesel as an actor (damn that dude is frickin' macho as a mofo) and of course Jordana Brewster is a hottie.

Yes, the plot is similar to Point Break...another movie which I really like.

If you're looking for brainless entertainment and fun...this is a good movie for it....and if you like cars (especially imports)....that's an added bonus.

For me, a must buy. For others, I would suggest a rental at the very least.

Put me down for rental. It was fun, but unless you still need an audio demo, or are into racing 4 cyl. imports, I don't know how much replay value it would have.

A mediocre and unoriginal script, dreadful performances (most especially from Paul Walker), and some decent action sequences make this one a rental in my book.

I hate all those lame guys fixing up their lame cars to look sporty (ugly) but I really enjoyed this movie a lot. Great sound and quite entertaining. I'm gonna buy it if it's cheap enough, or trade for it.

It is what it is...

Silly dialogue, good action, GREAT DTS sound, fanstastic video transfer. (Really--the sound is just amazing.) It is not one of those movies that's going to "make you think," but it's a nice flick to pop in & crank up the sound if you don't feel like thinking for an hour & a half.

I love Ebert's comment "This movie could not work in Chicago, but of course everyone knows that there is no traffic or police in Los Angeles". That about sums up the intelligence/plausibility of this movie.

Poor story line...but excellent racing scenes, nice cars, and an excellent soundtrack. Same comment as the rest of the people who have seen this film

Get action and sound. But, I did not like the movie as a whole.

If you want an action movie, this is the one for you. Don't expect great dialog or story line.

I saw it in theatres and totally forgot about it all....picked it up as a total impulse buy and also since I desired a new DVD. Not only is the picture and sound amazing, but the movie is pretty damn good too. Vin Diesel is really good in this movie, although some of the acting is pretty lame. Overall, it's a great action / popcorn flick and a great DVD overall. Especially better for the younger crowd I'd think (I'm 19). Reccomended

This movie is horrible. From the "heist" sequences through the poorly done and conceived races, this movie is a bomb. Let's not even mention the high number of technical mistakes made in the film -- no heat packs on the nitrous tanks, constantly referring to nitrous as the brand name "NOS", falsities about double-clutching in a drag race, bad use of nitrous, and even thinking that a souped up Supra could beat a 900 hp piece of good old Detroit is simply ludicrous. Rent it for a laugh, but it was better the first time when it was called Point Break.

Hey Weargle!

How do you know that souped up Supra didn't have 1000 HP or more? Turbo, NOS, must have been $$$$ in mods. Its a fantasy movie, let the imports live the fantasy. Besides, i know many, many, many imports that'll kick anything put out by Detroit (read: Vette, Viper, 'Stang, SS) in 1st, 2nd, or any gear. Mind you, these imports aren't street-legal, but the cops will never know

And my sig tells you what kind of car i have, and if you're wondering, its not stock. Where are all the slow 'Stangs and SS's for me to play with.

Great movie, lame plot, but hell, aren't most movies these days?

Definately not a buy for me...just finished watching it. The chicks and cars were cool, but it lacked in every other way.

Stock for stock, I'll take a Mustang over a Mitsubishi any day of the week. And if you want to mod it, I'll have more room in the engine bay for a supercharger, oil cooler, bigger heads etc. than the Japanese could ever dream of having. And I wouldn't even have to put on yellow kanji stickers or a huge wing either.

Stangs, Hondas, Rice, Domestic Rice, Domestics vs Imports....it's all bs. It's all about how much money you have. Anyways, the movie is ok. Far fetched and dumb in some spots, but it has it's moments. Worth a rental. Worth a purchase if you like riced out imports.
