I found this one early at Best Buy. I had high hopes before watching it and I was disappointed when it ended. After seeing previews on television advertising all the twists and surprise ending, I expected a lot more. I thought it was an average movie that was pretty predictable.

It's a good film, I rate it like Along Came a Spider, they have twists, and a surprise ending, but after it's ended, you feel its worth a rental only, and not buying the disk, as there's little in repeat value for me, but if your a serious De Niro fan, and like Edward Norton, it's actually likable for their performances, especially Edward Norton's BYE BYE performances as the pretender cleaner, very funny, I would only get it though when its cheap, no rush for me to get it, saw it on cinema, lots of other titles I would get instead.
Good film, I say it could of done with a good car chase, a stand out action scene, just to give it a little punch, but its still great for having De Niro, Brando and Edward Norton.

But thinking at it again, with De Niro, Norton and Brando, they could of done much better, I think they needed to rethink the story to get some excitement in there, it moves very slowly until the middle of the film, its certainley going to be painful to watch in repeat viewing a bit, thats why I think the movie was not one of the highlights of 2001, but it's very good, but I say watch it 2 times, and you'll be begging they should of added some more action, with De Niro's BMW, I expected maybe a car chase like in his other film Ronin, which is far more enjoyable.

Show me the "twists and surprise ending"? Over predicatable.
We films goers are sometimes different in how we read movies, or how predictable we see somethings, but even if i want too, I don't want to reveal twists and the ending in this review, would spoil it for those who have not seen it.

This was a disappointment. With the sheer gallons of acting talent on this movie I expected more than your standard-issue heist flick, but while this had good moments, that's all it was. Norton was great as always but DeNiro's stoic act is beginning to get old - his character never felt interesting or real to me; why was he a thief? No motivation was really given to make him believable. Brando was fun but, again, it could've been anyone in that role. I'd give it a "C." I much prefered the loose fun and enjoyable characters of "Ocean's 11," it was hard to really feel anything at the end of "The Score" for the characters.

I LIKE IT
Maybe I have lower expectations that most, but I actually enjoyed this movie. The acting is fantastic (good enough to have plenty of replay value for me), and there's plenty of action. Sure, once you've seen it the ending won't be much of a surprise the second time, but that's the same with any movie you buy. The DVD is not reference quality, but the picture's good enough for my 27" and I have no complaints about sound. If you like Edward Norton or Robert DeNiro, it's a great flick to have (in my humble opinion).

I am glad that I did not see this in the movie theater. I rented it with my free DVD Rental "Shrek" card.
I wanted a lot more out of the movie. The previews I felt were a little misleading. The best sceens they showed in the preview were at the end of the movie. I kept waiting for the movie to kick in. It did in the 10 minutes and then it was over.
Brando, DeNiro and Norton did a great job acting, but the movie was slow. I did fall asleep about 1/2 way through, had to watch the end when I woke up.

I enjoyed this movie but I must admit that it is only a rental movie worth seeing only 1 or 2 times. Ed Norton is one of my favorite actors and I enjoyed him in this part. I was disappointed in the ending thought; I thought that there could have been another 1/2 hour added to the movie. It ended much too suddenly, I was ready for more but then the credits started rolling.

I bought it. I like it. Worth $20. I can't get enough Ed Norton titles in my collection.
Brando was there just to be there, I heard he abused Frank Oz pretty badly during the shoot, calling him Miss Piggy and making him leave the room and have DeNiro direct his scenes instead. Sorry, I'm rambling.
Anyway, I'm a sucker for caper movies. I thought it was pretty tight, but I went into the theater knowing exactly what not to expect since I read the ebert review beforehand.

Rented it yesterday.....
...and had expectations of a well acted film. Instead, only Ed Norton gave the best performance. Second was the old guy janitor.
Robert Deniro has done better films, but appeared to have mailed this one in from the get go. It is still funny to see the expressions on his face, they remind me a lot of some SNL skits.
But the worst overall performance has to be Brando. He didn't mail his in cause he couldn't find an envelope or stamps. He seemed to have flubbed some of his lines and those made the final cut! In the deleted scenes/outtakes you can see just how bad he is.
The storyline could have been better. The idea was great, it just wasn't presented as it had the potential to be. As for the singers, who in the hell thought they gave a good performance. If that's the best Wilson and Moorer can do I'll avoid the local jazz clubs for the next decade.
This movie is a renter but isn't good enough to be in anyone collection unless you are a fan of one of the actors.

I thought this was a good movie and enjoyed it. However, with that being said, I won't spend $20.00+ to buy it. This is something I would buy used at a good price or if/when the MRSP drops.

It's a rental.....I agree that with such big guns as Brando, DeNiro and Norton, it should've been better. In addition, Norton, who I think is a good actor, his character just seemed like a combination of all the other characters he's played previously. It just came across as very generic.
