It's a Mad(x4) World Thoughts and Screenshots

I rented this DVD today (10 days early) and I just wanted to share my thoughts on it, because I feel like an important reviewer since I got to see it early and I like the film.

The image quality, to me, was very good, I think DVDfile gave it a 3 out of 5, I'd give it a solid 4. I've only seen it on the 2 tape VHS and this is a huge step up, especially since it is a super wide (2.55:1) Aspect Ratio, every little bit of extra resolution helped.

The sound was pretty good. No complaints.

The extra "making-of" was also pretty good, there are a lot of great little stories, but the first 29 minutes are all the cast talking about how great everyone else is.

The 56 "extended" scenes were in very poor quality and if MGM wants to eventually put the roadshow version together, they have a lot of work ahead of them. The main problem here was they aren't in order and they look so bad.

Also included are the 2 trailers, original and re-release.

In conclusion, if you are a fan of the movie, definately pick it up. Even though it isn't the roadshow version, it still is good. On the old VHS tape you could still see a slight change in the image when the extended scenes were added. It will probably be a long while before we get the Roadshow version, so this will have to tide you over for now.

Was this the original cut? Were the extended scenes separate or edited into the film?

The question is how does the film hold up? I'm still undecided on this one....

Sorry I didn't specify before, but the extended scenes are seperate from the main feature.
