I think the script was a good idea, just some of it moved to slowly and then certain things just flew by. But then again, I'm not watching a drama here...

Segal isn't getting any younger, so it's good to see him turn up a good performance in this one, despite some questionable directing and poor script. DMX was great. He seems to truly be able to play a role, much like Tupac before him (whom I think was one hell of an actor for who he was). I wish there was more of the man himself, Michael Jai White. The guy is not the greatest actor, but damn...he can throw out a nice fight scene. Can someone get this guy in a film with Jet Li? Or even Jean-Claude?

As far as segal goes...where the hell is a film with him and Doph Lundregen? Shouldn't these two be crossing paths at some point in their careers? I mean really, it didn't happen in their prime, but can't we get one damn movie out of these two? Not that they are great, but geez...2 big guys throwin down on a nicely choreographed fight scene...I'm up for that.

Think Seagal would take Dolph. I don't remember Dolph having any real fighting abilities other than being LARGE.

Now if we could have Seagal and Van Damme have a good go at it... now there'd be some serious blood, although I'm sure it's been suggested before.

Seagal
=====

Pros: Was a genuine martial arts master (Aikido)

Cons: Out of shape, smokes a lot of "medicinal herb", not much charisma.

Consistently entertaining movies: Under Siege 1 & 2, Above the Law, Glimmer Man, Marked for Death, Executive Decision

Dolph
====

Pros: Good shape, Karate black belt, recent Olympic decathlete (really!), and studied chemical engineering in university.

Cons: Has even less charisma than Seagal.

Consistently entertaining movies: Rocky IV, Men of War, Peacekeeper, I Come in Peace, and uh...

WINNER:
======

Seagal. Most people'd want to see Lundgren dead even more than Seagal.

Dolph is actually quite a good actor who is just given some lousy scripts. I think Seagal does have some charisma. He just doesn't make the right movies to show it off properly tho.

I've seen alot of replys about Seagals past films, but lets focus on this film, Exit Wounds I found to be one of the best action cop movies for some time, it's pulled off nicely, remember Matrix producer Joel Silver behind this, strong cast, police curuption is a strong element, Tom Arnold was funny, it has a balance of a good ideas, humor, action, great music!

Whatever Seagal does after this, won't matter too much to me, I think this film is as good as it gets for overall balance of humor, action, drama, a stand out film for Seagal, all those unti Steven people can't keep looking at his old films for blame, credit where its due.

Good Seagal films:

Nico
Hard to Kill
Out for Justice
Marked for Death
Under Siege
Excutive Decision
Exit Wounds

The Bad, to quite bad:
The Patiot
On Deadly Ground
Under Seige 2(I found this ok still as a fan)

Conclusion:
I have seen worser films from worser actors, but he's still got more better films then worst, Seagal's contribution to cops movies especially has been great, the only time he has failed is when he has not done a cop movie really, a Navy Seal in Excutive Decision and Under Seige was his another strong point, I still found Under Seige 2 entertaining enough not to hate, so only On Deadly Ground and The Patiot were really bad ones, but then I've seen De Niro choose some bad films, and Marlon Brando, peope still like their other movies, so Seagal ok in my books.

Jai White played as the villain opposite Jean-Claude in Universal Soldier the return or whatever the newest one was called.

Sorry but I just have to chime in here again. I get really tired of 'actors' like Segal saying how they dislike hollywood and acting.

Well then, get another job. Open a martila arts school, flip burgers, whatever. I guess he doesn't realize what a hypocrite he sounds like when he says things like this.

As for the movie in question. Haven't seen it, don't want to. I'd rather watch Shrek again.
