It's a drab but serviceable transfer. Most of the presentation issues seemed to relate to "flaws" that were intentional, since Sayles wanted a period look to the film. Still, it was a little more lackluster than I'd expect. In any case, it always was acceptably clear and watchable, and the mono sound was pretty solid given the limitations of the format. The absence of supplements stinks, but for the price I can't complain.
Bottom line: if you like the movie, it's well worth the purchase.
