Since it is coming out on the 29th, I figured at least a couple of reviews would be up on the web. Anyone know of any?

"DVD in Detail" is the only site i know of that has a review of it so far.. they also have screenshots of the menus. i'm thinking more reviews will come out this coming week though.. looks like a pretty good disc technically although very few extras (which i personally suspect has to do with the subject matter of the film, maybe Soderbergh wants the movie to stand on it's own without a bunch of commercialist extras added, and because he's been busy filming Ocean's Eleven all spring).

Got the disc,

Real good transfer, not too many extras though (just trailers, dvd spots, and a pretty good documentary, if you can stand to watch the beginning which is about 2 minutes)

Menus are ok, but pretty simple! The sound is excellent!

I wonder why the hell does Soderberg have time to record a commentary for Mike Nichol's thirty-year-old mess, Catch 22, but not have the time or inclination to record a commentary for his own Oscar-winning masterpiece? That bites. Of the five best Picture nominees from 2000, the only two released on DVD without audio commentary were Traffic and Erin Brokovich, which was directed by -- Steven Soderberg!

Personally, I'm betting that there is going to be an SE of Traffic in the future. Traffic would be the only Soderbergh release without his commentary, I think(?)

Cleopatra,
The Soderbergh films without commentary's are Erin Brockovich, Gray's Anatomy, Underneath, and now Traffic - which deserves the full Special treatment.

Got my copy today and am pissed off.

No commentary sucks. I thought for sure that for this Soderbergh film, a commentary track would be de rigueur, especially after the treatment The Limey was given: great transfer, sound and commentary. Boy was I wrong.

I guess I'll have to play closer attention when ordering DVDs in the future.

My bad! but it hurts! it really hurts!

By the way, Kim Deal didn't like this movie. hehehehe

cheers, Tony Block

Kim Deal not liking a movie means nothing about the film's actual quality. He hated all movies. It is like saying "that nazi doesn't like this jew".
