Is this any good? The movie sounds interesting enough, but the release is by Image. Quality?

Assault of Precinct 13 is more than a good film, it's one of my favorite films. Early on it's obvious that Assault of Precinct 13 is heavily influenced by several films, mainly Rio Bravo and Night of the Living Dead. Assault of Precinct 13 is dark, violent(more than your going to expect), and has one of the best musical scores for any film of this kind(intense and creepy). The story is very simple(and I do mean simple), but the characters are complex and incredibly interesting. The DVD to be honest needs work. The transfer is average at best, sometimes hazy and dark(In it's defense it is a very dark film, and a mint print might be hard to find after 24 years). The audio just isn't good by any means, just a poor overall job. The extras are average: A commentary by John Carpenter(Which I did enjoy), and trailer(which is almost of unwatchable video quality). All in all this film needs a anamorphic transfer, more extras(It deserves a special edition), and a completely remastered soundtrack. Out of 5 Stars:
