Hi Gang,

Quick one... I f I have a really old tv that only has a coaxial in like the one used for cable tv, how do I hook the dvd player up to my tv? Will I need some kind of special cable or adapter? The only coax outputs I see on dvd players are digital ones. That won't work, will it?

Thanks again

What you need is a rf modulator it converts a/v cables to coaxle (sorry about my spelling) usually about $30.00. You can get them from Radio Shack- Walmart etc...

just out of curiosity, is there any reason (other than $) you aren't upgrading to a modern television?

Nope!

Money is the only reason, unfortunately. I barely had enough for the surround system (kenwood-htb-503 @ $399) and the dvd player(sony dvp-s360 @ $135). I really would love to get a nice tv right now, but simply cannot afford it. I will save over the next few months to get something worthwhile.

I was a late career changer, and was one of those people who follow their dreams after school and become the best in the US at something that does not pay because I had a passion for it. After I realized my goals there, I moved on to a more lucrative (and boring) career. I hope to be out of debt in the next few years. Then I'll be able to get a tv worth watching!

Until then, I will enjoy the improved sound. Thanks for asking, though.
