I've got a Panasonic Quintrix (28") TV that's a couple of years old. It's given great service & I've been very happy with it, but my question is as follows:

In the upper righthand corner lately there has been a greenish tinge that won't go away. Even when the set "blue screens" (i.e. no picture input so the set displays only blue), that corner is still this tinge. I've seen similar tints on other older sets (always in one corner of the screen) but never on MY set

Is it time to toss this sucker?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Cheers,
Andy

Make sure you don't have a speaker positioned too close - if so, the magnet in the speaker may be causing it...

I second that. If you have unshielded speakers too close to your TV that type of discoloration will occur. I had the same problem. I moved my speakers two inches farther from the TV and the green tint went away.

Now that you guys mention it, I do have a "music centre" (separate speakers) just to the right of the TV and the speakers several feet away each to either side of the TV, so I'll give that a try.

The stereo's been there a while though, and I didn't notice anything before. Oh, having said that, I guess I really noticed it one day when the blue screen came up and was greenish in the corner (REALLY obvious). Hmm.

Thanks for the tip!

Andy
