How make Compaq DVD all-region?

I have just bought a Compaq Presario 1400 - 14XL355 laptop with a built-in DVD player, that will lock on one region when I insert the fifth DVD. I was informed by the seller that there are possibilities to make my player an all-region, and that software is downloadable from the web. However, I can't find it. Any information and advice would be appreciated.
