I don't get it! I have 4 movies that are all Widescreen 2.35:1 ratio. I have a 16:9 Widescreen TV. Three of these movies fill the screen exactly, while Titan A.E. overscans the top and bottom by about 2-3 inchs each direction. How can this be seems how all the movies are supposedly in the exact same format????

Any insight would be appreciated or links to areas that discuss this phenomenon.

Thanks,

Yendor

Do the math. Those 3 movies don't fill the screen "exactly." 16:9 is a 1.78:1 aspect ratio, not 2.35:1. So the movies that you claim are fitting "exactly" are either distorting the picture, and/or cutting info from the sides.

Sounds like to me you either have the screen zoomed in or you don't have setting correct on the DVD player. On a widescreen TV a 2.35:1 movie will have "black bars" on the top and bottom. A 1.85:1 movie will fill the screen.
