Hook up help??

Is there is a good site that goes into detail about hooking up a home theater system? Having trouble getting everything up and running. Seems I can get two of three sources going, but not all three (dvd, vcr & digital cable). Just got a Sony STRDE-845. Checked the Sony, site, but no help there.
