IS there a huge difference between the regular Dolby Stereo pro-logic and Dolby Digital? Right now i have dolby pro-logic and it sounds pretty good. Is it a totally different experience? Uncomparable?

this thread http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/020954.html has links to several sites explaining the technical aspect. DD gives stereo rear channel plus the .1 LFE. Entirely different experience, especially when you start hearing DTS. I personally think the Pro Logic from my LD's is superior to the DVD Pro Logic. It's as big a jump as Pro-logic was to stereo

rubberman: There is a huge difference between Dolby Pro-Logic and Dolby Digital 5.1. When I upgraded, I was blown away - totally different experience. You will notice the difference instantly.

JimRochester: "Those aren't pillows!" Hee hee. That is TOO funny. I love that movie!

Agreed... I was at a friends house watching X-Men last night and he has a pro-logic system... Interesting to hear pro-logic again after being used to DD/DTS... It was... Um... I didn't care much for it. If you have the cash, and sound is at all important to you, I would recommend an upgrade ASAP. It really is like night and day...
