hi,

i bought the sony dav-s300. i tested one of my friend's video cds to see if that worked and on the screen or whatever you want to call it on the dvd/receiver set, it had PCM selected. what exactly is it? i did a search for it and someone mentions that it's digital stereo or something. is it supposed to be worse than DD 5.1 or DTS?

can someone elaborate more on it? thanks!

The PCM is commonly referred to as the COAX Digital output/input on a DVD player or other sourse that uses it. To the bets of my knowledge, PCM IS the output for 5.1 digital.
