TV recommendation for local streaming..

I am in the market to purchase a 55" TV. I don't need the curved screen or 3D but I would like the 4K option.

What I am really looking for though is one that has good streaming support to connect to my local DLNA/UPnP server where I have ripped everything to. My LG currently will do this but only with a very limited set of video formats and codecs.. I'm looking for something more robust - built right into the TV.

Yes I know I can get a Plex server or stream through a variety of other devices but I'd like to be able to do it all through one device. I'm sure some manufactures support this better than others so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has looked into this already.

Thanks!

Your best bet is to use a third part device. TV apps are seldom updated. This means that how well it works (or doesn't) out of the box is how it will always work.

Personally, I'd choose a TV based solely on picture quality.

Just my .02

Good luck with your search.

Thanks.

I went ahead and bought a Samsung UN55HU8550 and it found my server right away and so far it's played everything perfectly - so I'm happy now
