Don't laugh. I got this as a third DVD player for my sister's room, and got it for only $100 Cdn. I would like to know if there are any region code and/or macrovision hacks for this DVD player. Any help would be appreciated.

Why laugh ??? The player is not bad as an entry level, though I would have picked the DVD 200 which does have SVHS output.
There are remote hacks for playing VCDs, to enable multiregion, and macrovision.
Here you can find all the info, except for macrovision, which is still unkonwn how to do it. Oritron says it CAN be disabled, but won't say how...
Anycase, you can pick up a DVD200 for $65 here in the US ( 800.com with $20 off $100 + 10% DVD Player sale + 20% MSN Passport + Free shipping - Expires 11/22).

I picked up an Oritron DVD200 for use with a second TV (not my main player). It's out of stock at 800.com now. I bet they keep it out of stock until this passport mania subsides. if they get more in grab it, it's hell of a deal for $60 after e.bates discount for a player that can be made region-free and can play PAL DVD's from Europe. Amazing for the price.
