I have a 50 inch Mitsubishi rptv. I noticed that no matter what I have for an input there is a small blue and red dot in the middle of the upper left quadrant. Any idea what this is or how I might fix it short of spending a fortune for a service call?
Thanks!

You might have a speck of something on one of your lenses. You can try displaying pure red, blue, green screens and see which has the speck (or missing color), and which does not. It might not be too difficult to open your set to clean the lenses. Get instructions if you don't already know how to do this.

I have the same problem on my 36" Toshiba, only it is only appears on the Fox channel.
I dont know where it comes from, but it only happens on this one channel. So, it could be a problem with the cable company's transmission.
Check and see if its on every channel.

Wow - the spot moved. I was able to get a good look at it, and it looked amazingly like a spider. Then when I saw it actually crawling. I guess I need to cancel the tweeter service guy and just hope there isnt a big web inside my tv! Thanks all!

Spiders are pretty common in RPTVs. If you can get at it it's a good idea to remove it. Many manufacturer warranties won't cover service on sets that have an "infestation" so it's best to nip the problem in the bud before little spiders start hatching.
