Looking for a compact, simple Blu ray player
I was wondering if anyone makes a cheap simple BR player that is also small/compact in size. All i want from it is the ability to play blu rays and dvds and output the video and audio through an HDMI port on the back. Since it would have to sit on top or below my MacMini HTPC, it would have to be pretty small in size, like not much wider than the disk width. also, cheap is good.
any ideas?

Best Buy's Dynex may fit the bill Pretty good ratings as well. Had one of these in my hands the other day and was surprised just how small it is.

About the same size as the Sony BDP-S185, the Toshiba BDX2250 is WiFi ready for streaming & disc playback. Probably could be found cheaper than the Sony

Re: Looking for a compact, simple Blu ray player
i ended up getting a Sony BDP-S580, it wasnt as narrow as i wanted but the top was flat so i could put stuff on top (unlike the sony 185) and it had wireless netflix/amazon/etc so i could take out the rarely used Roku. also the tv is sony so when i turn the blu ray player on, the tv switches to that input and when i turn the player off, the tv switches to what input it was on before.
