Just got a 24" WEGA from CC Sunday. Problem is, the TV makes a "boom" noise when it is turned on. Seems like it only happens if the TV has not been turned on for awhile; there is no noise if i turn off and then turn on after 10~15 secs. I was wondering if this is something to worry about, or if all these TV's did this. Thanks.

Pretty common for any sony TV to make a loud sound like it is being degaussed when it is turned on.

All of the sony TV's I have owned (3) have done it, and I've never had a problem with any of them.

If it really bothers you try getting a surge protector/line conditioner with a delayed on/off. This is mainly used for amps to guard against the turn on thump, but may work for your tv also.
