What are good speakers for 5.1? Don't want to spend arm & leg. Have Bose looking for better.

yeah, you need to provide a budget. also, does this include a sub? do you have space for towers? bookshelf only? how large is the room? are there any openings to other rooms? if so, how large is the room it opens to? is this a movie only system?

Good speakers are those that sound good to you.

Sorry to not be helpful but speakers are very subjective. Aside from budget, no one can tell you whether or not something sounds good to you.

My advice to anyone that askes this question is to go to a store and listen to speakers.

As others have said, more details are needed to give recommendations that meet your needs. Your arms and legs might be worth more or less than ours.
