Interested primarily in sr-18, 19, and 8000. Opinions on these models would also be appreciated.

www.hifi.com is the only authorized place on the web, and they sell at list price (tho they do throw in a cheap dvd player occasionally).

There's a dealer or two that sells new Marantz stuff at @bay, but you're trading price for warranty (which is 3 years on most Marantz stuff).

Go to www.audioreview.com for lots of reviews; I've seen all these pieces but haven't heard them for more than a minute or so.

i agree with stevevt: ur local dealer - i bought mine from a local dealer in Overland Park, KS - I paid in cash so he gave me $50 discount.

I got the 8000 for $1000.

How do you like it? I was set on the sr-18, then a friend bought the sr-19 (after listening to both) and said he couldn't tell any difference, esp. $1000 worth. So now I have to wonder if the sr-19 is $700 better than the 8000. I was hoping the sr-14 would make the prices drop, but doesn't look that way (MSRP $4700!!!).

I have the 7000, and want to tell you how happy I am with it. I bought it at Cambridge Soundworks (aka hifi.com onthe web) in March when they had a coupon for $100 off purchases over $700. I paid $699 after the coupon.
