Interested primarily in sr-18, 19, and 8000. Opinions on these models would also be appreciated.

your local dealer www.hifi.com is the only authorized place on the web, and they sell at list price (tho they do throw in a cheap dvd player occasionally). There's a dealer or two that sells new Marantz stuff at @bay, but you're trading price for warranty (which is 3 years on most Marantz stuff). Go to www.audioreview.com for lots of reviews; I've seen all these pieces but haven't heard them for more than a minute or so. -S |
i agree with stevevt: ur local dealer - i bought mine from a local dealer in Overland Park, KS - I paid in cash so he gave me $50 discount.
I got the 8000 for $1000. HTH! |

HTH!

How do you like it? I was set on the sr-18, then a friend bought the sr-19 (after listening to both) and said he couldn't tell any difference, esp. $1000 worth. So now I have to wonder if the sr-19 is $700 better than the 8000. I was hoping the sr-14 would make the prices drop, but doesn't look that way (MSRP $4700!!!). |

I have the 7000, and want to tell you how happy I am with it. I bought it at Cambridge Soundworks (aka hifi.com onthe web) in March when they had a coupon for $100 off purchases over $700. I paid $699 after the coupon.
